Pets have never felt like a difference maker to me. I think prioritizing heroes those 5 levels is more important. What I do know is there are A LOT of pet upgrades so try and keep the pet house constantly busy. Its not so much of a grind once the heros are done honestly, its only a huge grind right now, while you are working on pets and 3 DE heroes…
I went to th14 day 1 and loot was TERRIBLE. I can’t really say how it is now lower, but I’ve made a few posts about it since then and Legends League is something to really consider, at least after your major hero work is done. Using DE on pets only or pets and lab is easy with legends loot, 6 busy builders is easy in legends, and walls will get done eventually, no rush there though.
As far as priorities in lab – drags and drag riders are a simple combo that does wonders. Hybrid gets harder but isnt impossible. And Honestly E drags are legit. Our mod xkart has a great edrag post you can find on his profile too.

Pets are definitely worth grinding early. Unicorn is a healer so i it on my archer queen. Electro Owl, i have on my Grand Warden. I have Mighty Yak on my barb king. And my LASSI i have on my Royal Champion.
Good job! At th14 just worry about attacking stuff like CC, Heroes, Pets, Lab etc. And do defences when you have enough gold.
