Hey everyone. I figured I’d introduce myself. I started playing yesterday and have already reached level 8. I have played games with similar mechanics (I.E. “Civilization”, etc.) and “Clash of Clans” so far is very enjoyable to me. I decided I wanted to interact with the community and see how things are in it. If you guys can recommend any other platforms where I can interact with other members of the community that would very welcome.

Welcome! The sidebar is super helpful and there are many clash creators on YouTube that are incredibly helpful. One thing I’d like to note is the mechanics do change quite a bit the further you go as it turns into a marathon rather than a sprint (without getting into the nitty gritty of it all). Burnout is real lol. It is a fun game for base builders, attack strategists and chill gamers alike. Have fun!
This subreddit is usually helpful, and it also has a discord. Most youtubers have one as well, but activity levels differ. I’ve heard that twitter is quite active, but I don’t use twitter.
As a new player, be aware of a few things:
Gems are the premium currency, that you need for the new builders. Up to 5 can be bought using gems, costs go 250-500-1000-2000. So save your gems as much as possible and don’t finish timers. You’ll have a steady income from village obstacles, and occasional achievement completions.
The game runs on exponential economy. If it takes a week to get to town hall 6, town hall 6 itself will take a week. Costs of upgrades go up both in time and resources. You don’t have to upgrade to have fun though – the game is pay to progress and not pay to win.
You get resources by attacking others, but you’re using resources to attack – be aware of your profit margins. The ‘next’ button is your friend in multiplayer.
