Here’s a rough summary of the update.

**Town hall 14**

– Poison effect on the Town hall
– New levels for defenses, troops, spells, and heroes

**Hero Pets**

– 4 pets with 10 levels each, lots of dark elixir and waiting needed

**Weaponized builder huts**

– Builder huts act like archer towers, and the builders repair damaged buildings
– Range increased from 6 to 7 in a recent small update

**Clan donation changes**

– Donated troops are capped by clan castle level

**Others**

– Starter challenges are introduced to boost progress of th2-6. Gives some magic items as rewards
– Upgrade time and cost reductions for low-mid town hall levels
– Gameplay balance changes on headhunters, inferno dragons, super giants, and super minions
– Multi inferno has one additional beam once maxed

Initially, I was very excited about this update. Right now, I don’t know what to say because I wasn’t affected by the update. The hero upgrade reductions were the highlight for me (th11 and th10 account), other than that there’s nothing worth mentioning.

What about the others? What were your first impressions and current thoughts?

  1. Clan donation changes has impacted my lower th farming so still not happy about that. I dislike the insane nerf-into-oblivion of the super minions but the ramping up of the poison effect on the th has made it more interesting at the top level so there isn’t just mindless 3 stars after 3 stars.

  2. Currently, I think TH14 is just half of what it’s intended to be. We know there are additional levels for other defenses coming for TH14. Maybe even a new defense as well.

    The situation now is that with Siege Machines, 4 Heroes, Super Troops, capacity for lots of invisibility and freeze spells, hero pets, the meta is tilted too far in favour of offense. I felt like defense hasn’t caught up as of now.

    Not to mention defenses have also been nerfed significantly over the years. Inferno no longer stop heals. EA no longer deal additional damage on golems. Giant Bombs no longer deal additional damage on hogs.

    With a decently-levelled queen, some healers and 1-2 rage/freeze spells, you can easily clean out the enemy CC troops and destroy half of a maxed TH14.

    My 2 cents.
