  1. That’s intentional, otherwise the chat button would be eaten by the notch and the bottom controls would cover the resource bars and bottom right buttons.

  2. This problem really isn’t SuperCell’s fault. Phone manufacturers’ use of the notch is stupid – and every mfg has their own implementation (big notch, small notch, wide notch, narrow notch, short notch, tall notch, camera hole on right, camera hole on left, etc.) This forces app developers to either create dozens of custom layouts to accommodate every imaginable implementation, or take the nuclear approach and just move their UI elements inward if a notch or cutout is detected. SuperCell chose not to spend all their time and resources on customizations and just ran with a one-size-fits-all approach for simplicity and cost effectiveness.

    Some devices have the ability to hide the notch cutout in settings – this essentially reduces the screen size by the amount of the notch. Full screen apps & games then usually run normally (user interface buttons and controls back out to edges where they belong. I’m an android user, so I don’t know if iPhone has this capability or not, but you might try looking into it.
