[STRATEGY] The economics of CWL medals. Hero’s or troops?

Since I became a townhall 12 (currently 13) I’ve started spending my CWL medals on my dark troops instead of my hero’s and I find that a lot of people don’t do this.

Hero’s take 6 days each to upgrade. Troops take 10+ days from townhall 12 levels.

Right now at townhall 13 I have 4 DE troops that need to be upgraded to their max level, they’re all 1 level behind max. If I use my DE to upgrade them, it’ll take me 14 days for each, so 14 x 4 = 56 which is just under 2 months.

Or I can wait and use my CWL medals, which, would also take me 2 months to collect (243 medals per month which gives me 2 hammers every month).

If I use my CWL medals, I can upgrade all 4 DE troops while upgrade 4 regular elixir troops in 2 months. This means that I’ll upgrade 8 troops in the time it would take others to upgrade 4 troops by simply using my CWL medals on the hammer of fighting instead of the hammer of hero’s.

In this same time you can upgrade your hero’s 9 levels and have some days left over.

Therefore, in my opinion and from my experience, it is better to use your CWL medals on the hammer of fighting rather than the hammer of hero’s.

Thank you

  1. if you care about the math more then it makes sense. You cant factor in satisfaction from having your heros up for war though, or the increased effectiveness from having them to farm.

Theres more to it than just time off towards maxing. But to each their own.
