I started playing clash weeks after it came out, and I used to play up until maybe 2 years ago. I literally had 50 accounts and a whole guild that I used to war by myself (and got to lv10 alone). I actually quit because the engineering update ruined my clan and solo wars.
When I used to play, I’d pushed low th’s, and my main (then max) townhall, and we all talked on Norsk global and everyone knew everyone (before it got filled with spam).
While talking to an old clash friend, I discovered my clan no longer existed, and was left with slurs in the description.
So I downloaded the game to check and found out that several of my accounts had been stolen. Only one account had ever been shared (but not with the guy who phished them – and this account wasn’t taken) but Supercell ID had came out before I quit, so I’d thought my accounts were secure.
I then found out at least four of my accounts had been stolen – and all in the last month, and all by the same person. One had been taken only a day and a half before I logged in (when I got it back I could tell from the boosts). They were also all in guilds related to this guy, and had names changed to variations of names he used.
Most of my accounts are engineered, so I guess that made them more appealing. But 100% this was a personal attack. This guy also knew the basic stuff such as creation country, approximate date etc. All of the accounts that were taken had a purchase history though (I recovered 3/4 already, and I think this is what helped).
The guy who took them was once a friend. However, I stopped talking to him around 2017, and he proceeded to stalk me for years. He shared my IRL info, contacted me everywhere, sent his IRL friends to contact me etc. It was so bad I deleted all of my social medias just to hide from him. He was also in a big modding guild, so after Imod ended, they’d been stealing accounts as early as then.
I’m wondering what I can do to keep them safe? I don’t particularly plan on playing again, but I put so much time and money into everything, and I’m not going to lose them to someone like this. Without a global chat, and almost everyone I know having quit, there’s not a reason to come back, but like, I played this game for 6-7 years, and those accounts were accounts I made purely by myself, and I’d never done modding/illegal gems/selling/buying etc on any of them.
Considering they were taken so recently, he’s still trying to take others too. And I recovered one account twice in 3hrs because it was locked shortly after I got it back.
I’m also wondering if there’s any way to report him to supercell? I’m 100% sure it’s him, and it looks like he’s taken the accounts (and whole guilds) of several other friends that have quit. Apparently he also got lessons in how to do all this phishing stuff, and based on the company he keeps, I’m sure him and his friends are causing a large part of the problem – especially if the guilds/accounts taken are related to big war clans or former Norsk global players…
Interesting read. I’m not quite sure what advice to give to go about an effective report, but keep us posted.
